Thoughts, in no particular order:
- Naomi - Why does this chick speak so many languages? (Notice I did not say "how" but "why".) It seems rather strange to me that she would use all these languages when trying to communicate with people who are obviously speaking in English to her (and she understands/speaks English as we saw at the end of the episode). Various people have confirmed that the last thing she says to Mikhail (who we had all guessed was not really dead, and therefore he is not on my list of thoughts) before he runs off into the woods (and being tackled again by Jin) was not, "Thank you..." but rather, "I am not alone" (or some form of that statement). Was that meant to be heard only be Mikhail? Is this chick an "other"? Which troupe of "others" is she from? Seems awful shady to me...which brings me to...
- Penny and Desmond - After last week I got to thinking, what was up with Penny and Desmond's first meeting? Fate, or set-up? Was the monk arranging their meeting? To me the answer is, "yes." I am starting to go down the path of believing that what Penny and Desmond had, was not genuine. Perhaps she was set-up by her father and the monk...to use Desmond as a pawn...knowing (through the physic lady, Mrs. Hawkins from the antique store) that he would end up on "their" island (Widmore is already known to be an investor in Dharma, although we do not know to what extent he is involved). Yes, Penny is searching for Desmond, but is it to protect him from her father, or is she working with her father to try and find the "lost" island that holds his investments? This parachuter (Naomi) could have very well be on a scouting mission from Penny and her Russian crew (seen in Season 2's finale). Does Desmond know he is being played (evidence of that could be him letting Mikhail go...all part of the same "clan"...working toward the same goal, or an attempt to screw Widmore over one more time?) Penny and Desmond's relationship is no longer the innocent love story I once believed it to be...and I like it that way...
- Sun - Sun is basically my LOST hero. She's the most amazing character, so simple, yet so deep. She can push Kate around like nothing, stand up to Juliet and any man that crosses her path. I totally believe that she would have Jin's mother whacked if she needed to. Her reaction to learning that her baby was Jin's was so amazing...very fitting for her character.
- Juliet - She really is the creep we think she is, but I do not think she enjoys being the jerk. With no communication with the outside world (as Ben says) how are they going to get the supplies they need to tweak the "magic potion" they try on pregnant women to keep them alive? If they use the same-old-stuff, Sun will surely die...unless of course only natural inhabitants of the island are "infected" - - did we ever learn if people brought to the island, as opposed to were born on the island, are "infected"? What about the old Clone Theory that suggested the Others were really clones of other people (some even think that Jack has now been cloned...) and that clones since they are not "the original" do not have "a soul" and therefore cannot produce a real human life in the form of a baby...something goes terribly wrong when they try to create life, from their not all natural bodies? Could the crazy sperm count be the problem? Too many latch on to a single egg...causing some terrible mutation?
- Multiple Universe Theory - Hurley's last words this episode were predictable, yet telling. Once again theories of purgatory will rise up in LOST blog world. Awesome...way to go writers...way to screw with conspiracy theorist minds. I, myself, prefer the "Multiple Universe Theory" to the purgatory theory. The MUT suggests that the Losties are living in a separate universe than the rest of the world. The rest of the world find plane parts from Oceanic 815 and all passengers are assumed dead. The world goes on...without them. The island however has split from the former universe and created a second, parallel universe that runs along side the "normal" universe. The time is the same, but different things are happening in each universe. The Losties obviously live in this new universe...and there are people still searching for them. I would guess the universe "split" when the plane crashed/Desmond failed to enter the code. At least this would explain away the purgatory theory...which would be pretty lame.
- Next Week - Locke is going to ask Sawyer to kill Ben...raise your hand if the man under the potato sack is really Locke's Dad/The Real Sawyer?? Sawyer will finally get his revenge! Or could this be a trap set by the Others to see if Sawyer has "changed" and has turned from his revengeful past? Do we think anyone else will recognize Naomi? Just because the Boy Scouts didn't recognize her doesn't mean someone else on the beach won't...and what about Kate...do we think she'll become pregnant/we'll find out she's pregnant? We already know Sawyer is fertile...and now even more so since being on the island...
Hopefully I didn't forget anything major...if I did I will repost with adds in a different color...
