The Constant

I love Desmond episodes. I really feel like we "learn" something crucial to the over-all storyline of LOST when Des takes center stage. Tonight was no different. Finally, a little confirmation that time is not as it seems in the world of LOST.

Daniel Faraday is quite a character. I loved that he's character is developing so much...he usually makes Charlotte look like a jerk, and perhaps that's on purpose, but I just can't see Faraday conning the gang. Eloise was a good rat, now a dead rat. Kinda sucks that Daniel chose Desmond to be his "constant" and now Desmond is somewhere in the Pacific on a strange freighter with next to no means of communication.

Sayid just rocks. Who do you think sabotaged the communications room? Ben's "man"? Are we still thinking Ben's man is on the boat? If so, is it Michael? We obviously know he's got the stones to pull it off. I liked the sly remark about "you must have a friend on this ship" when the sick-bay door "mysteriously" opened. Friend of whom though...is Michael (or whoever Ben's mole is) going to be the one to bring Sayid over to the dark side? If so then it better not be Michael because I don't think Sayid would fall for that...at least I hope not.

Desmond. Oh Desmond. Sucks to be stuck in time doesn't it brotha? We learned several important things though this episode. Why did Penny not search for Desmond the first 3 years (she mentioned in their 2004 phone call that she had been looking for him for 5 years...what happened from 1996-1999?) Sadly, I forget the timing of Desmond's sailing trip...could she have started her search when he went "missing"? Must do more research...

Random Question: Why is the love story of Desmond and Penny SO MUCH BETTER than Jack and Kate or Sawyer and Kate? Why do we actually "care" that they find each other again? Is it because the other three have never done anything to "deserve" this kind of love? Kate runs, Sawyer cons, and Jack had it and let it slip away...
