Meet Kevin Johnson

Well, not much has changed with respect to my lack of interest in Michael Dawson/Kevin Johnson. He's just as annoying as ever...and now he CAN'T DIE?! What a sick trick to play on us! Ugh, this storyline kills me and I'm hoping the "answer" to LOST does not revolve around Mike.

I was ready to be shocked or surprised by this episode, but was left wanting. I had basically assumed Mike would screw it up as a dad again, I mean really, we never saw him take a turn for the better on-Island, so what made us think he's turn into Super Dad off-Island? Okay, so it was new that he couldn't die, but for those of us who believe the show is somehow about fate (at least on some level) and whether or not we can change our fate...it's no big surprise...obviously it's not Mike's time to go, he has unfinished business and just because the plane crash created the need for some "course correction" in Mike's timeline, doesn't mean he can change the future. He still sucks as a dad, and his quest to end it all and leave his kid behind, only makes him suck more...I must say though, Harold Perrineau is a genius and it takes something special to come on screen and people instantly hate you for the character you are portraying...not for your lake of acting ability, but rather your superior gift at becoming a character. This man is gifted, but that doesn't make me like his character at all...which perhaps is the point...I'm not sure we are supposed to trust Michael...and H.P. gets that across brilliantly.

We still don't know how Michael and Walt end up back in America...obviously with no ID...and new names...or did Ben provide them with the necessary paperwork before they left? Ben's such a nice guy... =P

I thought Michael had returned the watch to Jin...guess not. Jerk.

Why did Mr. Friendly kiss that dude? Was that important, really? I'm hoping it was, otherwise, that was just some unnecessary guy-love and a whole lot of fruit in Mr. Friendly's penthouse suite. Knowing LOST, that guy, Arturo, will be back at some point... Back to Mr. Friendly...his presence starts the whole "timeline of events" for this episode rolling...obviously we are somewhere between Thanksgiving and Christmas 2004 in here...Libby is dead, yet appears to Mike a few times (a product of Smokie following Mike around making sure he doesn't die/guarding him supernaturally, perhaps...perhaps not) and Friendly is now dead on-Island after being ambushed by Hurley and the gang on the beach. I'll let some fans, more obsessed than I, deal with this timeline...

Widmore is obsessed and has lots of money...nothing new learned here. Someone finally admitted that the plane wreck was a fake and the bodies were stolen from Thailand. Right on...yet I'm not convinced just yet...how can we be sure it was Widmore and not Ben? All we know is that a shell company bought the plane, etc. I think there's still a strong possibility that Ben's playing Mike...again. Especially considering on some screen shots I've seen for the airplane PO, yeah, the buyer is "Widmore Industries" not very "shell" if you ask me...

Sayid always rocks. 'Nuf-said. (Granted he may have spoiled the "surprise" that the captain of the freighter already knew Michael was a spy, but whatever...the more things out in the open, the more we get to see whether Widmore or Ben is the real "bad" guy.) I also like that they continue to show him for the "warrior" he is...he doesn't even take his shoes off to sleep...he's ready at the drop of a hat! Why didn't the Losties want to trust him to be their leader? Prejudice perhaps? Would things have turned out differently if they did? I think someday Sayid's feelings toward Ben will change...or something will change...I'm really excited to see how his post-Island life gets going...I'm definitely holding out for another Sayid flash-forward!

Most thought-provoking sub-plot of the night for me was the Alex, Danielle, Karl trek to The Temple. Who was killing them off? In my mind, it was some of the Others coming from The Temple to meet the small party and make sure Alex, and only Alex, made it to their camp. Danielle's "story" was resolved at this point, so I was surprised for her to be taken down by someone other than Smokie...she had found her long-lost daughter...it was over...I knew she was on the chopping block...people around here tend to die off once their story is complete. I doubt Ben would be running through the jungle himself, but I wouldn't put it past him to send his other "friends"...maybe this means a return of Richard Alpert! That would be awesome. I will cling to that thought until April 24th at 10pm.

It's going to be a long month until Episode 4.09 airs...
